Greetings from the East

Keith Lodge had a great turnout for the Coming Home program.   We had a  total of 53 people in the dining room and almost half our membership in attendance. They were privileged to listen to Bro. Luis Orozco, PM,   El Camino Research Lodge, during dinner. It was great to re-acquaint  with members we hadn’t seen in a long time. I want to again thank Bro.  AJ Jones for his diligent preparation for the event and help during the evening. Assisting him was Bro John Karas (owner of Sunrise Cafe) who donated the meat, the Gilroy Rainbow Assembly and Eastern Star (headed by my wife Elise and Kathryn Burns.)

I was pleased to make a surprise presentation to Bro Gene Gewin with his 25 year pin. Bro Gene  has actually been a member for much longer than this. I believe he was  initiated in 1969 and through circumstances unbeknownst to me, did not receive his recognition at the time. Congratulations Bro Gene for your contribution and thanks for helping again during one of our big events.

Just a reminder that St. Patrick’s Day is drawing nearer and we will be celebrating this event on 3/1/10, prior to our stated meeting.  Festivities will begin at 630PM and we will be entertained by Hazel and Bob Winter. They always put something on very nice for us.   All masons, family members, friends and prospective members are welcome.

RSVP WM Alexander, IF you want to eat!

The lodge has planned another “work day party” on the 1st saturday of April (3rd). We appreciate anyone who can turn up and help. If the last is any indication, it should be a productive day.

We may have a degree or two coming up this month, however, that will depend upon how the candidates progress with their coaches. We should know more in the first week of March, once we know who is ready. If we do host a degree, the ladies of Eastern Star will be preparing  dinner for us prior to the degree, at 630PM.

Fraternally,

James P. Alexander
Worshipful Master
